    Characteristics and selection of stepper motors

    Stepper motors mainly have the following characteristics,which can be used for your reference and selection:

    1. The number of input pulses is linearly related to the operating angle of the motor, with each pulse driving the motor rotor to rotate a fixed step angle;

    2. The operating angle error of a stepper motor generally does not exceed 5% of the step angle, and this angle error does not accumulate. For example, the step angle of a hybrid two-phase stepper motor is 1.8 °, and the operating angle error is within 0.09 °;

    3. Under open-loop control conditions, stepper motors can achieve precise control without the need for additional components such as encoders or position control switches;

    4. The speed of the stepper motor is strictly proportional to the pulse frequency, and a wide range of stepless speed regulation can be achieved by adjusting the pulse frequency;

    5. The torque of a stepper motor decreases as the motor speed increases. When the stepper motor rotates, the inductance of the motor winding forms a reverse electromotive force. The higher the speed, the greater the reverse electromotive force, resulting in a decrease in the current passing through the motor winding, thereby reducing the output torque of the motor;

    6. The heat-resistant temperature of stepper motors: The surface heat-resistant temperature of stepper motors can reach 80 ℃ -100 ℃, and the demagnetization temperature of internal magnetic steel can reach 130 ℃ -200 ℃ or above;

    7. The response speed of stepper motor start and stop can reach millisecond level, and after signal input, corresponding actions can be quickly implemented;

    8. Stepper motors can control the direction of the motor by changing the pulse sequence;

    9. Stepper motors have strong anti-interference ability, low sensitivity to interference factors such as voltage fluctuations and load changes, and high working stability.

    2. Confirm the torque required for the stepper motor;
