Brushless motors for pool-cleaning robots

Motor selection for pool-cleaning robots: operating duty, sealing, corrosion resistance and integration with the pump and controller.

Motor supply and robot integration

Power Motor offers customized brushless motors for pool-cleaning equipment manufacturers. This article concerns the motor and its integration; it does not establish that Power Motor develops or supplies a complete pool-cleaning robot.

Define the operating duty

Specify the required speed and torque, supply voltage, pump load and operating time. Evaluate the motor together with the pump, controller and battery. No-load measurements alone do not establish suction performance or runtime.

Separate motor technology from protection

Brushless commutation removes the brush-and-commutator contact. Bearings, seals and the driven mechanism still require attention to friction, wear and maintenance. A brushless motor is not inherently waterproof or corrosion-resistant.

Confirm the complete assembly

Define immersion conditions, sealing interfaces, materials and exposure to pool water before selection. Waterproof performance and any protection rating must be confirmed for the specified assembly and test conditions; this article does not claim a tested rating for a particular product.

Use configuration-specific data

The historical article included no-load figures without a complete model, supply voltage or test conditions. They are not presented here as verified product specifications. Request the confirmed configuration, performance curve and test conditions for the intended duty.

Prepare a development enquiry

Provide the equipment function, operating load, voltage, available dimensions, shaft interface, control requirements and environmental conditions. These details support motor selection and prototype evaluation.
