The power seatelectric motor, as its name implies, is a device that uses electricity to produce a motor or mechanical output. In other words, most, if not all, devices in our daily lives include some form of the electric motor in their jobs. Although the term motor indicates that the device is moving or inducing motion, this is not always the case. The derivative motion is that within the motor that is hidden to the naked eye. As taught in elementary science, a magnet consists of two opposite poles, known as north and south poles. The second element is a permanent magnet which is located very close to each other and surrounds the electromagnet. Once the electromagnet is turned on, a magnetic field is generated which causes the coil of the cables to rotate due to the attraction of the opposite poles of both magnets. To create a true blue motor, it is important that the coil generates a continuous flow of motion that can then be translated into good use. The continuous rotation is achieved when the poles of the electromagnet are reversed and alternate rapidly to induce attraction and repulsion from and to the poles of the permanent magnet. This then translates the electrical and magnetic energy into kinetic energy or motion.

When producing an electric motor, there are two types of power supply. Most power seat electric motors work with DC. The DC electric motors work with batteries. To create the effect of alternating poles, there is an additional part in each power seat motor to simulate the alternating direction of the current in the electromagnet. When a device needs a lot of movement, it is usually powered by AC power. Fans, mixers, and trains fall into this category. DC power is usually sufficient for low power motors such as portable fans and hard drives, handheld vacuum cleaners, and electric toothbrushes.
